Hi everyone,

The third release candidate for Seashore 0.1.6 is now available at our website:

http://seashore.sourceforge.net/

Seashore is an open source image editor for Cocoa. It features gradients, textures and anti-aliasing for both text and brush strokes. It supports multiple layers and alpha channel editing. It is based around the GIMP's technology and uses the same native file format.

The main improvement from the last release candidate is that bug reports can now be filed quickly and easily online using:

http://seashore.sourceforge.net/quick.php

Although the release is marked for Mac OS 10.4 users only. I would really like to hear from users of Mac OS 10.2 or 10.3 as well. Hopefully with enough bug reports (and maybe even a developer or two) we can get Seashore working on these operating systems. If not by this release, then by the next one.

I welcome your feedback to either this thread or through the above online form.

Other changes from the last release candidate include:

* A fix to allow proper printing with resolutions that are not 72 dpi (no more empty pages)
* A fix for the zoom tool (now zooms in on the correct part of the document)
* A fix for applying effects to floating selections when only a particular channel is selected
* The removal of a library dependency that was causing the program to crash on Mac OS 10.2.8 at start-up
* The removal of code that was causing redundant files in the "/tmp" directory
* Support for 10.3 compiles (source code only)

Mark.
